How Does Resurfacing My Skin Improve My Tone?
Time, the elements, and bad habits contribute to our skin losing its youthful complexion. Laser skin resurfacing can help reverse the clock by increasing the skin's tone and texture and reducing wrinkles and imperfections. Read on to learn more.

Life gives our skin a beating and eventually it starts to show in our appearance. Fortunately, there are a variety of ways to rejuvenate our looks including laser resurfacing.

Helping you look and feel your best is our number one goal at Cascade MedSpa & Laser Centre in Baxter, Minnesota. Our top-notch friendly staff uses only FDA-approved devices and products to help you meet all your aesthetic goals from facial rejuvenation to body sculpting and more.

Skin

Our skin and its appearance can be affected by a variety of factors. Some we can control and some we cannot.

Exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the sun and tanning beds breaks down connective tissue resulting in wrinkles, causes age spots, and increases our risk of skin cancer. Smoking can also accelerate the skin's aging process making people appear older than their years.

Another culprit is aging which results in skin that is more fragile, less elastic, and more prone to wrinkles. Diminishing amounts of fat under the skin contribute to laxity and sagging. Skin issues such as acne can mar appearances as well.

Laser skin resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing is an excellent way to give the skin that refresh it needs. Treatment with the Halo® system can help in a number of ways including decreasing wrinkles and brown spots and smoothing the complexion. It can also improve the tone and texture as well as decrease the appearance of acne and surgical scars. Additionally, the procedure can minimize the size of pores.

How it works

We create a personalized treatment plan for each individual based upon their skin issues and desired outcome. On the day of the treatment, the skin is cleansed and a topical anesthetic ointment is applied. After about half an hour when numbing is complete, the Halo handpiece is rolled across the skin in a crisscross pattern for best results. The procedure itself usually takes 20 to 25 minutes with a recovery time of several days afterward. Results are visible immediately as well as continuing over time.

Other options

In addition to treatment with Halo there are several other options. A procedure using the ProFractional laser makes microchannels in the skin and then targets laser energy into them in order to address skin damage.

Individuals with mild to moderate wrinkles can consider treatment with a MicroLaserPeel. This procedure removes the outer layer of skin using advanced erbium laser technology and allows for new healthy skin cells to replace the old ones.

Whether you're seeking a refresh of your appearance or smoother skin after acne or surgery—or both—we can help. Call our office at 218-454-9999 or click here to book an appointment today and find out which treatment is right for you.
